Aspects

Planetary conversations

Aspects describe the chemistry between planets. Think of them as text threads: some are supportive, some are spicy, and all of them create movement. Geometry, not personality, dictates the tone—so even challenging aspects can be harnessed elegantly.

The Ptolemaic Backbone

Conjunctions merge, sextiles collaborate, squares agitate, trines harmonize, and oppositions polarize. Memorize the angular degrees (0°, 60°, 90°, 120°, 180°) and you can read any chart at a glance.

Whole-Sign vs. Degree-Based

In whole-sign approaches, any two planets in signs that see each other (like Aries and Leo) are considered in aspect, even if the degrees are wide. Degree-based methods tighten the orb. Use both. Whole-sign aspects reveal narrative themes, while degree aspects describe specific events.

Aspect Chains

Follow the daisy chain: if Venus squares Mars and Mars rules your 10th house, then professional decisions will always require heart–body alignment. Mapping these chains exposes the feedback loops running underneath your default choices.
