Glossary & Working Vocabulary
A glossary for clarity
A shared vocabulary keeps readings clean. This living glossary highlights the terms we use inside Luvsa so you can translate celestial mechanics into everyday words.
Luminaries vs. Planets
We refer to the Sun and Moon as luminaries because they light up the chart. Everything else is a planet for shorthand, including the social planets (Jupiter, Saturn) and outer planets (Uranus, Neptune, Pluto).
Essential vs. Accidental Dignity
Essential dignity measures how comfortable a planet feels in a sign. Accidental dignity measures the circumstances around it—house placement, motion, aspects. A dignified planet in a cadent house may still feel quiet; a debilitated planet on the midheaven can steal the show.
Conditioning a Forecast
Before forecasting, we check: 1) is the natal promise supportive? 2) What’s the current transit weather? 3) Which profected house is activated this year? Using consistent language around these checkpoints keeps guidance grounded.
